Update on U.S.-Japan Relations by Glen S. Fukushima

What is the latest view from Tokyo and D.C. of U.S.-Japan relations? Glen S. Fukushima will provide the current outlook based on his extensive experience in the public and private sectors in Japan and the USA.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session after Mr. Fukushima's presentation.

Glen S. Fukushima keeps a close eye on global events, with a focus on U.S.-Japan relations. He is a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, a public policy think tank, and spends 50% of the year in D.C., 30% in Tokyo, 10% in San Francisco, and the remaining 10% in cities such as London, Berlin, Moscow, Beijing, and Seoul. He has served as Director for Japanese Affairs (1985-1988) and Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan and China (1988-1990) at USTR. Between 1990 and 2012, he was a senior business executive representing major multinational corporations: Vice President, AT&T Japan; President, Arthur D. Little Japan; President & CEO, Cadence Design Systems Japan; President & CEO, NCR Japan; and President & CEO, Airbus Japan. He was elected to serve two terms as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
