Connect with community members at our Annual Meeting! Learn what we have accomplished in the past year and what to look forward to in the year to come. Come to network, recognize the contributions of our members, enjoy a light meal, and hear from renowned U.S.-Japan scholar, Professor Kenneth B. Pyle!


We will also be honoring Consul General Omura before he leaves Seattle on his next assignment at the end of April. He has been a constant friend to the Society and the community during his tenure in Seattle.

Keynote Speaker: Professor Kenneth B. Pyle, 

University of Washington

a

Kenneth B. Pyle is the Henry M. Jackson Professor of History and Asian Studies at the University of Washington. He is Founding President of The National Bureau of Asian Research and Founding Editor of the Journal of Japanese Studies. His most recent book is entitled Japan Rising: The Resurgence of Japanese Power and Purpose (PublicAffairs Books, 2007). His forthcoming book is on Japan in the American world order.
